十二支の第十位に位置する「酉（とり・鶏）」は、闇を払い夜明けを告げる姿から「光明」「新時代の到来」、そして「客や福をトリ（取り）込む」という語感から絶大な「商売繁盛」「金運上昇」を象徴する大変縁起の良い干支です。古来より鶏は神の使い（神鶏）とされ、太陽を呼び覚ます神聖な鳥として崇められてきました。また、「酉」という漢字は果実が十分に熟し、芳醇な酒が醸し出される酒壺の形に由来しており、物事が最高の成果として結実する「収穫」と「成熟」の吉兆でもあります。

本作品では、新たな光を呼び込む神聖な情熱を宿す「酉」の文字を描いています。半世紀以上にわたり伝統書道の真髄を探求してきた書家・鎌田惺舟（Seisyu Kamata）が、古典の骨格（章法）を守りつつ、幾何学的な様式美とアシンメトリー（非対称）の現代的な美学を融合。流麗かつ力強い筆致に、光を捉えて煌めく立体的な黄金の境界線（レリーフ状の縁取り）を施し、手漉き和紙の豊かな質感とともに気品ある現代ファインアートへと昇華させました。
