十二支の第九位に位置する「申（さる・猿）」は、高い知能と臨機応変な行動力、そして「魔を去る（サルの語源）」という語感から強力な厄除け・病魔退散を象徴する干支です。猿は古来より「神の使い（神使）」として信仰され、日吉大社や山王神社などでも見られるように、あらゆる災いを払い勝運をもたらすシンボルとして尊ばれてきました。また、「申」という漢字は稲妻の形に由来し、神の力が伸び広がる「伸」に通じ、才能の開花や才能の伸び代を意味します。

本作品では、災いを払い才能を大きく伸ばすエネルギーを宿す「申」の文字を描いています。半世紀以上の書業を誇る書家・鎌田惺舟（Seisyu Kamata）が、鋭く知的な筆致とアシンメトリー（非対称）の美学を融合。光を受けて煌めく立体的な黄金の境界線（レリーフ状の縁取り）が文字の動きと気品を際立たせ、手漉き和紙の質感とともに幻想的な現代ファインアートへと仕上げています。

Historically revered as sacred messengers of Shinto deities, Monkeys are celebrated for warding off misfortune and bringing victory. Etymologically, the character "申" originates from lightning, linking to the concept of "extension (伸)," signifying the dramatic stretching and blooming of one's innate talents.
